Looks Like I’m Biking to CU Football Games

In this episode of “Only in Boulder”, we discover that this fall students and fans will be able to ride to CU football games and have their bikes valeted and watched by student volunteers. This comes on the heels of Folsom Field (the CU football stadium) announcing they would be the first zero waste stadium in the Big 12 conference.
I should back up. Dear Reader, in case you’re not aware, Boulder, CO, is about the most biker-earth-child-pet-4:20-friendly city on Planet Earth. It’s no surprise that their pushing their progressive environmental agenda into the college stadium now. And it’s a good thing, really. It’s just humorous, living here.
So the CU Buffs will never win a national championship. So what? Is that really important in the grand scheme of things? Or is having the most environmentally friendly facility around? I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before Ralphie (the buffalo mascot that is run up and down the sidelines after a goal) will have his poo used as compost. But isn’t this great news? Instead of driving around looking for overprices parking, ride a bike, have beers and worry not about how you’re going to get home after you’ve drank away your sorrows due to another depressing Buffs loss (presumably to the new improved Kansas Jayhawks).
